The SX has an inbuilt GPS, and displays rating, stroke count, time, speed, distance and cover (distance travelled per stroke). It can also have an optional impeller fitted, which can be calibrated with GPS. The Coxmate Software(PC Interface Kit) is available as an optional extra, or included at a reduced price with the SX-Kit+PC version. This enables detailed rowing data to be transferred to a PC and analysed. Up to 60 hours of rowing can be recorded. Unit has realtime clock and each record is time and date stamped. The SX has extra large batteries to accommodate the power consumption of the GPS. Additional improvements in run time are achieved using a digital amplifier.

An ‘over the side’ impeller option is being developed. This will place the impeller in water unaffected by turbulence of boat, and provided a noise free signal for stroke profile analysis – seeing how boat speed changes through stroke. It provides a powerful analysis tool which can quickly be fitted and removed.
