Coxmate HC
Coxmate’s product for coxless boats.
The Coxmate HC is our controller for coxless boats. It has a host of features:
- High contrast display with switchable backlight. The display is configurable, with variables including Rating, Speed, Time, Distance, Average Speed, Distance, Stroke Count, Dist/Stroke, Heart Rate and Ratio (minimum speed/maximum speed for each stroke).
- An ‘auxiliary switch’ for foot/leg operation. This enables starts/stop and reset of timer without having to take hands off oars.
- An adjustable mounting bracket for setting optimal viewing angle, which can be folded away for stowage.
- Large memory for storing data and a real time clock for time/date stamping rowing records. Up to 60 hours of rowing data can be stored.
- Optional PC link and analysis software package.
- Integral pick up for Polar (0r compatible) Heart Rate monitors – no separate antenna required.
- Includes both PACE boat, and WORKOUT modes.
- Optional GPS calibrator for calibrating impeller.
- Uses standard AAA batteries. Approx one years operation without backlight. Approx 100 hours runtime with backlight on.
- A second HC unit can be used as a slave to first, enabling data to be displayed to more than one crew member (future option).
- Uses ‘Micro Impeller’. Approx one tenth the drag of standard impellers.
Compatible with any of the Coxmate or Nielsen Kellerman mounting / speed measurement impeller systems

- Memory: Will store up to 4 hours of rowing data in micro data (speed every 20mS), or over 10,000 strokes of macro data (details of each stroke stored).
- Mounting: Compatible with NK Speedcoach

Ordering:
- For complete system order HC and a Mounting Kit. Other options are PC Interface Kit (includes hardware and Software), GPS calibrator and Heart Rate chest strap.
- Mounting Kits: The mounting kit includes adjustable T bracket, auxiliary switch, seat sensor/magnet, impeller/pick up and screws/ties/double sided tape/swabs for installation. Four options are available: -0.6m, -2m, -5m, and Master/Slave. The first 3 options each offer a different cable length for impeller pick up. It is generally recommended that impeller is approximately 3m from bow. The cable lengths are 0.6m, 2m and 5m. The forth option is a Master/Slave kit. This allows two HC’s to be connected together with the ‘slave’ replicating the ‘master’ display. This unit has a 2m long impeller pick up.
- Optional PC analysis kit to analyse results on your computer. These kits come with serial(D9) cable adaptor, serial to USB converter and PC Analysis software.
- Optional GPS calibrator. Connects to HC. Row 250m in straight line, and calibrator will accurately calibrate impeller.
