The Coxmate range of electronics assistants for coxes brings the benefits of current electronics technology to rowing.

The Coxmate AA is a audio only model. It has been designed to be durable and low cost.

The Coxmate range is offered with speakers, cable harness’,  microphone and charger.

The speakers, stroke/seat sensor and cable harness are compatible with the Nielsen Kellerman™ Cox-Box™ and Cox-Vox™ unit.

An AA unit can be plugged directly into an existing Nielsen Kellerman™ cable harness.

The Coxmate designs are a result of a lengthy and intensive study into the needs of rowing, and how existing systems can be improved.

Some of the features are listed below: 

• Large capacity rechargeable battery storage. (8 x 750mAh NiMH batteries)

• Sophisticated battery management to increase battery life. Unit can be left permanently connected to charger, as it turns charger off once batteries are full. this avoids unnecessary degradation of batteries.

• Provides low level battery warning and charge full indication.

•  Increased audio power, reducing distortion, increasing efficiency and increasing battery operating time.

• Automatic power down if speakers are not connected – avoids accidental flattening of batteries.

• Automatic retention of volume setting when turned off/on.

• Short circuit protection of speaker output.

• Customer replacement of rechargeable batteries.

• A permanent connection of microphone to control box – removing problems associated with unreliable connection.

• Coxmate harness accommodates up to 4 speakers – providing even sound volume through boat, and enabling Cox to communicate with crew but not the competing crew alongside.

• Improved cable harness design:

  1. All connectors are fitted with strain relief to protect against damage during connection/disconnection.

  2. All cables are double insulated to provide additional mechanical protection.

  3. All copper wires are tinned to reduce corrosion potential.

  4. All connectors are fitted with visual markers to assist in aligning of two halves during connection.

  5. Main Connector is fitted with retentive cap. This is used to protect connector when it is disconnected from control unit.

The Coxmate units are supplied with a special mounting plate. This can be permanently mounted in boat or attached via a waistband to the Cox.
The control unit is easily attached/detached to/from this plate.

The following Coxmate components are available:

AA-Kit: Control unit, supplied with waistband, mounting kit, microphone, charger, carry case and silicon grease. *CH4-AA-Mod-Kit: Cable harness for four. with 2 speakers. *CH8-AA-Mod-Kit: Cable harness for eight with 4 speaker.              *The modular harness/speaker kits are recommended. Conventional harness systems are also available

 * The stroke/seat sensor connectors are included, even though they will not work with AA model. this enables the same harness to be used

 with either an AA or an SR model.
