Coxmate was founded in 2002 to provide a new generation of electronics for rowing. Peter Hodson, the founder, a rower from school and university and more recently in Masters, found himself maintaining the electronics equipment for his daughter’s school. This frustrating experience, coupled with over 20 years experience in the development and manufacture of electronics, prompted the development of the Coxmate range. All aspects of existing systems and rowing needs, especially in schools, were analysed carefully.

The resulting products bring rowing electronics to a new level of performance. There has been a strong emphasis on durability, ease of use and ease of maintenance. The products are designed by rowers, for rowers.

In only a few rowing seasons, significant sales growth has been achieved and distributors have been appointed in many countries around the world. The product range includes three units for coxed boats and the new HC for coxless boats.
